Performance, blood chemistry, carcass and economic evaluation of sheep on dietary supplements of cabbage and carrot wastes

The study was conducted to determine the effect of cabbage and carrot wastes supplementation on performance, blood chemistry, carcass economic evaluation sheep. Twenty four West African dwarf male sheep about 8 – 9 months old with average initial weight 9.00 ± 0.94kg were randomly allotted dietary treatments six per treatment, in a completely randomized design. received 60% guinea grass 40% concentrate diet for TD1 (control group), while 50% either 10% waste, 5% plus or waste diets TD2, TD3 TD4 respectively. results showed that significantly (p<0.05) higher feed conversion ratio, creatinine, urea, rumen intestine total fixed cost. Diet TD2 improved daily gain, digestibility dry matter, crude protein fiber nitrogen free extract, haemoglobin, packed cell volume, mean corpuscular white cell, lymphocyte, neutrophil, protein, albumin, glucose, dressing percentage, sale sheep, revenue net profit. Red cholesterol triglyceride increased TD3, intake, ash, cost variable better TD4. Meanwhile, no significant difference (p>0.05) found body weight, ether extract digestibility, haemoglobin concentration, monocyte, eosinophil, basophil, globulin some relative organs among treatments.
